Description

As a child, Hwang Shi Mok underwent brain surgery in an attempt to control his violent temper, but the procedure left him emotionally detached from the world around him. Though devoid of emotions, Hwang grew into a brilliant prosecutor renowned for his razor-sharp intellect and unyielding logic. Yet, this same brilliance also made him an outsider—his lack of empathy and social grace alienated colleagues who found it difficult to connect with him on a human level. Despite these challenges, Hwang stood firm as one of the few incorruptible prosecutors in a system riddled with greed and bribery, refusing to compromise his principles no matter the cost. One fateful day, while investigating high-level corruption, Hwang stumbled upon the victim of a stabbing. At the crime scene, he met Lieutenant Han Yeo Jin—a woman whose determination matched his own. Their partnership was born out of necessity, yet it blossomed into something deeper as they worked together to unravel the web of corruption within the prosecutors' office and hunt down a cunning serial killer. Through their shared mission, Hwang began to experience glimmers of connection he had long thought impossible. While his logical mind remained unshakable, Lieutenant Han's unwavering compassion slowly chipped away at the walls he had built around himself. Together, they became an unstoppable force, driven not just by justice but by a growing bond that defied the odds. In a world clouded by deceit and betrayal, their alliance shone like a beacon of hope, proving that even those who feel nothing can still fight for what is right—and perhaps, along the way, rediscover what it means to truly feel alive.

One of the best shows I've seen. Incredible writing, even with season 2 that moved slower than 1 but was as impactful. The acting is 10/10

The original name Forest of Secrets suits the series much better because it grasps the heart and soul of it. Stranger undersells it to the extreme, lol
